Katherine Marie Helmond (Galveston, Texas, 5 de julio de 1929) es una actriz estadounidense de cine, teatro y televisión.
Inició su carrera en la actuación a muy temprana edad. Durante su infancia, Helmond participó en diversas obras escolares. Cuando Helmond estudiaba la universidad, trabajó en el mantenimiento de un teatro local. Como actriz de teatro, debutó con la obra As You Like It. Después de su debut, comenzó a trabajar en Nueva York a lo largo de los años 50’s y 60’s. En la televisión, Helmond hizó su debut en 1962, pero no alcanzaría la fama hasta los años 70 con la serie Soap.
En 1973, Helmond consiguió una nominación al Tony por su actuación en Broadway de la obra de Eugene O’Neill, The Great God Brown (El Gran Dios Brown).

Palin wrote most of his comedic material with Terry Jones. Before Monty Python, they had worked on other shows such as The Ken Dodd Show, The Frost Report and Do Not Adjust Your Set. In a 2005 poll to find The Comedian's Comedian, he was voted the 30th favourite by fellow comedians and comedy insiders. After Python, he began a new career as a travel writer and travel documentarian. His journeys have taken him across the world, including the North and South Poles, the Sahara desert, the Himalayas and, most recently, Eastern Europe.
